refunds and returns
Orders and returns are all processed via Etsy. Please contact me via Etsy to communicate about orders and returns.

You may return your item(s) within fourteen (14) days of delivery for a full refund, minus the cost of return shipping. I will provide a return shipping label, which must be affixed to the original packaging. (Please remove or conceal the original shipping label.) You may choose another return shipping method. I recommend purchasing insurance, as any loss in value to the item is the buyer’s responsibility. The return address is provided in the contact information on this site. Gift wrap fees will not be refunded unless your item is lost or damaged.

Items are guaranteed to arrive as described and photographed. Parcels are insured, and orders are photographed before dispatch. If your item arrives damaged, you must provide photos of the exterior and interior of the packaging and the product(s) so I can file a report with the shipping carrier. If your item is lost, I will file a report with the shipping carrier on your behalf, or you may take this action yourself. You must file a report with the local authorities if your item is stolen.

Refunds are issued within 24 hours of return receipt. Processing times depend on the financial institution and may be delayed by holidays.

Etsy provides buyer protection in addition to my personal guarantee.

shipping
All items are shipped with tracking and insurance from the southwestern United States. Processing times may vary, but I usually ship within one business day of purchase. Orders totaling over $350 may require an adult signature for delivery.

International orders may incur customs, duties, tariffs, or other import fees. Please refer to your country’s import schedules. At this time, I do not shop to France or Germany.

I commonly use USPS Media Mail for domestic book orders. This is the most economical service, and is also the slowest. Upgraded shipping is available for purchase.

Parcels are thoughtfully packed to optimize reduced waste, safest transport, and lowest shipping cost. I used new boxes and, whenever possible, clean, second-use packing supplies.

price-match promise
I am confident you will find my prices competitive. I will happily match the price of a comparable listing.

The comparable listing must be currently for sale online in a “buy-now” format and available for shipping to your location. I will consider sold comps that are no later than three months old if there are no current comparable listings.

Email me at anuncommonleaf@gmail.com for a price-match assessment. Include relevant screenshots and links. Please allow a 24-hour response window. Note, the item may sell to another buyer at any time, and I will not hold the item while discussing price-matching.

When matching a price, I do not consider taxes, duties, and shipping fees.

gift wrap

Gift wrap is offered for all books for an additional fee. Many books are listed with complimentary gift wrap available upon request. Please include a gift tag message (to: / from:, for instance) when you mark your order as a gift.

scarcity rating (scale 1-5)
I enjoy bringing items to market that are uncommonly offered. My scarcity assessment is subjective, and these are the parameters I use to assign a value.

1 – out-of-print or vintage

Though difficult to source at a local brick-and-mortar, a seasoned treasure hunter may be able to do it! The item is readily available online, though (i.e. Mousekin’s Christmas Eve 1965 or Gunsmoke 1959 lunchbox).

2 – limited

This exact item may have limited availability, though items like it are generally available online (i.e. Chronicles of the March Family 1946 boxed set).

3 – uncommon

Usually only a handful of similar examples are available online (i.e. Poe first appearances).

4 – premium

Collectors may have to consult a rare books dealer or wait for an auction house to offer items like it. Perhaps it is the kind of thing exhibited by institutions (i.e. Petőfi Sándor összes költeményei Kiadja Az Athenaeum, 1906 complete commemorative set).

5 – scarce

The object is irreplaceable. It may be one-of-a-kind. Examples of similar quality are rarely available for private purchase (i.e. 1837 complete thaumatrope set).

objectionable content
I will never knowingly offer items that are culturally significant, are legally protected, contain hate speech or symbols, or contribute to the stereotyping of any minority group.

portion proceeds support community organizations
In celebration of the store launch in (Oct. 2022), over 1/3 of gross revenues were donated to local charities that year. Community philanthropy remains a priority for my small business.
