Beehive Press, 1975, first edition. Two volumes in publisher’s pictorial slipcase. Selected correspondence of colonial Georgia founder General Oglethorpe with maps. Blue cloth covers with gold lettering on the spine and maps frontispieces and slipcase.
[Oglethorpe] directed the economic and political development of the new colony, defended it militarily, and continued to generate support and recruit settlers in England and other parts of Europe. – The New Georgia Encyclopedia. He was a proponent of prison reform and protecting Indigenous rights and was adamantly against slavery.
Very good condition, noting two creased leaves and minor bumps to slipcase, as photographed. Would make a lovely gift set, as it displays handsomely.
